Zhengzhou Tourism College, originally under the name of Zhengzhou Tourism School which was founded in 1985, is affiliated with the People's Government of Zhengzhou. After four phases of leapfrog development, it was approved by Henan People's Government and recorded by the Ministry of Education as a public vocational college in May 2004. The college covers an area of 1251 mu with an total gross building area of 570,000 square meters, of which the new campus has an area of 1036 mu and a gross building area of nearly 430,000 square meters. With 13 subsidiary departments and 1International education college, Zhengzhou Tourism College enjoys a total enrolment of 1 5847 students. It sets up 4 1 higher vocational majors and 10 majors for five-year program students, among which are 2 Key Specialties supported by central government budget, 2 Tourism Model Programs among National Vocational Colleges, 6 Provincial Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilots, 4 Provincial Characteristic Specialties and 8 Municipal Key or Model Specialties.
