A public undergraduate-level higher institution founded with approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and administered by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education in the country’s southwest border city Lincang, known for ‘‘Noblest Tea Origin, Ever-spring Capital and Health-nourishing Resort’’, West Yunnan University (WYU) boasts an educational history of four decades.
