Jimei University (JMU), one of the key universities located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, is a “ Double First-Class ” Construction un iversity in Fujian . It is jointly constructed by the Ministry of Transport ， the Ministry of Natural Resources ， the Fujian Provincial Government and the Xiamen Municipal Government. The university started with the Teacher's Department of Jimei School founded in 1918 by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader, Chen Jiageng (Tan Kah-Kee), and the Fisheries Department 、 Business Department of Jimei School founded in 1920. It has a history of 106 years. Its motto “Sincerity and Perseverance” is a precious spiritual heritage handed down by Tan Kah Kee, It has formed the characteristics and advantages of marine-oriented disciplines such as navigation and fishery, which has undergone a long and glorious history and enjoys great fame far and wide.
