Founded in 1952, Inner Mongolia Normal University is the earliest university established by the government in the frontier minority areas after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, which is one of the key universities in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and a comprehensive normal university with the characteristic features of both teacher education and ethnic education. After the hard pioneering and practical exploration of several generations, Inner Mongolia Normal University has become an important base to train talents of elementary education and ethnic education, as well as the compound ethnic minority talents who master both Chinese and Mongolian. It is also the training center of middle-school teachers in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the continuing education center of primary and middle-school teachers, and the research center of the reform and development of elementary education and ethnic education.
